Butternut Bisque Bone Recipe
Butternut bisque is probably not the first recipe that springs to mind when you think about bone broth recipes, however, we did see earlier in this article that you would be surprised by some of the creative and delicious recipes that you can create with bone broth.
Butternut bisque a is in itself a naturally healthy dish but, with the added kick a bone protein you will be giving your family an added health kick that comes with the tremendously tasty flavour.
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1 red onion, chopped
- 1 large butternut squash (peeled and chopped)
- 2 red peppers, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, smashed
- ½ cup sherry
- 4 cups chicken bone broth
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- 1 sprig thyme
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 4 scoops of bone broth protein
- 1 can coconut milk
- ½ teaspoon each paprika
- ½ teaspoon cayenne (optional or just a dash)
In a medium pot, heat coconut oil over medium heat. Once melted, add onion, butternut, red pepper and garlic and sauté for 10–15 minutes,until browned and fragrant.
Deglaze pan with sherry and broth. Add sea salt, thyme and celery, and simmer for 20 minutes.
Remove sprig of thyme and purée with immersion blender.
Add coconut milk, paprika and cayenne, and heat on low, stirring to combine.
